Green Rubber – Kennedy Ag Opens New Location in Santa Maria
At a time when many businesses were downsizing, Green Rubber – Kennedy Ag (GRKA) took the brave step of opening up another location to add to the existing five locations in Salinas, Watsonville, Greenfield, Modesto and Yuma. The sixth store in the chain has been established in Santa Maria, California, where the thriving agricultural industry is the lifeblood of the community.
With the closing of a competitor’s store, and the availability of knowledgeable professionals in the area to bring on board, GRKA took action. Quickly they began the task of transforming the building at 406-A W. Betteravia Road into a fully stocked store and resource center. There was a big collaborative effort with teams from Salinas rotating to Santa Maria to work on shelving, stocking, and inventory. Logistical and marketing staff from the Salinas branch designed signage, store layouts and promotions.
Although this physical location is new, GRKA has been working with customers from the Santa Maria area for many years, sending outside sales reps on the road on a regular basis.
“We set up the new Santa Maria location to provide a more permanent presence and a higher level of service to meet the growing needs of the local industry,” says Jaime Lopez, the new store manager. “We have received a warm welcome and established a lot of new business relationships. The staff at this location has years of experience and is extremely knowledgeable about the products and services we have to offer.”
